EDIKANG IKONG SOUP

EDIKANG Ikong is part of healthiest meals in  Nigeria because it is made up of mostly vegetables. It is usually made with two main vegetables — fresh green fluted pumpkin leaves (Ugu) and waterleaf ("Efo gure" and "Mgbolondi" in Yoruba and Igbo languages respectively). Ofada rice is a healthy alternative to white rice.
Wholegrain like ofada rice has three layers;bran, germ and endosperm. Bran contains most of  nutrients and when whole grain is processed to white or polished rice, majority of nutrients, most especially in bran are lost. Ofada rice and beef sauce contains nutrients that fight colon and gall stones. It is also great for lowering cholesterol levels and preventing constipation.
