General Ibrahim Babangida Dashes Tinubu and Atiku's hope. Reveals Presidential chioce candidate.
Reported by Vanguard indicates that former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, has backed presidential ambition of former Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki.
According to Vanguard, General Babangida expressed support for Saraki when a delegation of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) National Campaign Advocacy Council visited him at his Minna Hill top residence on Wednesday, February 2.
General Ibrahim Babangida said Saraki knows Nigeria well and should lead the country for maximum results.
General Babangida was quoted; “Am glad to have found people who have defined who a true Nigerian leader should be.
This definition was lacking. Am happy you have identified someone who can do the job.
The narrative has to change. I know your client very well. I am part of him.
His father was very close to me. "You have zeroed on a good candidate. I call him SP. In the artillery we have a Self Propelled gun called SP with strategic responsibility and functions. That is who he is”.
The leader of the large delegation, Prof Hagher had asked for General Ibrahim Babangida's blessings and support for Saraki, who is within the youthful age canvassed by General Ibrahim Babangida himself for the leadership of Nigeria.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) and presidential aspirant, had earlier visited General Ibrahim Babangida.
Tinubu and his delegation were at the hilltop mansion of the former Nigerian military ruler in Minna, Niger state capital on Thursday, January 20.
Speaking to journalists after meeting with Babangida, Tinubu said: “I came to Niger state to commiserate with the governor and the people of Niger state.
And so, I can’t stop by without paying a courtesy call to the enigma, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida."
North-central PDP endorse Saraki as Candidate.
Some Stakeholders of PDP from North-Central zone, endorse Saraki as candidate.
According to leader of the delegation, Iyorwuese Hagher, it was time for the geo-political zone to produce the next president of Nigeria.
He said: “The nation right now is so divided and fragmented.
We need a uniting force, which the North-Central is known for, to emerge and reunite the country again. “Bukola Saraki is that young breed with wealth of experience at every cadre of governance to restore Nigeria to where we belong.
We do not need an old man as president who will be travelling every moment for treatment and spending the country’s resources abroad."
Senegal to Face Egypt at Cameroon for Afcon Finale
Senegal are through to their third Africa Cup of Nations final with Sadio Mane on target to help overcome Burkino Faso.
In an interesting game, VAR cancelltd two Senegal penalties, Burkina Faso goalkeeper Herve Koffi injured during the first.
It was Mane's 29th goal so far in Afcon, taking him level with Henri Camara at the top of their all-time scorer list.

There was still a cost to Burkina Faso, with Koffi forced off hurt in the 36th minute after awkwardly landing on Crystal Palace midfielder Kouyate as he tried to punch clear.
After Idrissa Gueye had slotted in to make it 2-0 in the 76th minute - six minutes after Diallo's finish following a corner - Kamou Malo's side could have wilted.
But Toure gave them brief hope with his 82nd-minute effort, before Senegal talisman Mane fittingly had his say on the occasion with a driving run and chipped finish three minutes from time.
